BOUNCE IS GROWING AND WE COULDN’T BE MORE EXCITED!
For regular readers of this blog, this post may seem a little different from our usual programming. I wanted to use this opportunity to introduce myself and let you know the good news that Bounce Financial is growing!
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Ben Brett and I am new to Bounce. You may have noticed Cara and I share a last name which I suspect has something to do with the wedding we had in 2012 (I really can’t be sure). I’m excited to be taking on a role as a Financial Adviser and look forward to meeting many of you. A quick intro about me, I’m a former Corporate Lawyer who has transitioned into being a full time Financial Adviser. My background is in financial services and I have worked for different insurers and superannuation funds. I regularly get asked, how did you transition from law to financial advice? I think financial advice is a lot more legal than most people realise.
Good financial advice takes into account the tax law, superannuation law and the different rules associated with insurance. On the investments side, a large portion of investment advice is made up of structuring which again takes into account tax laws and trust law. In addition, Bounce will be bringing more Estate Planning options to its clients so look out for this in the next couple of months.
Now the boring stuff is out of the way, let me tell you a little about me! I’m Sydney born but Brisbane bred. Apart from some small stints in London and Canada I have spent most of my life in the beautiful Sunshine State. I have a near fanatical obsession with homebrewing and low and slow BBQ (my wife’s words, not mine). I also enjoy Golf, gym and other activities which attempt to offset my passion for good food and beer.
Cara and I love a good holiday and really attempt to live and breathe our business motto, ‘live for today and for tomorrow’. I really enjoy snowboarding and Cara and I have taken some great trips over the last couple of years to different snow resorts around the world.
My philosophy for life (and for financial advice) is that each person’s priorities are different and its important to identify them and direct your finances towards maximising your enjoyment of life. It’s important to us that our client’s feel comfortable to tell us what they really want to achieve and don’t be afraid to change their minds. After all, that is the value of financial advice!
Next post we will return to our normal programming but if anyone wants to get in touch, please drop me a line on our contact form. Until next time.
